Jomar Figueroa
Jomar has spent years contributing to the sports community. He joined the USA Deaf Basketball organization in March 2020 as the Youth Development Director after two years as the High School Basketball All-Star Games Coordinator. He works with USA Deaf Basketball’s International Director Jeremias Valencia on youth basketball programs and will play a vital role in helping to drive USA Deaf Basketball’s work to grow and improve youth basketball. Jomar also organizes details for various projects and events for the Youth Basketball Program throughout the year. He also assisted USA Deaf Basketball on setting up a new program called “National Deaf High School Basketball Coaches Association,” to help coaches develop passion for coaching and to provide quality basketball coaching resources for everyone.
Jomar began working with the Deaf International Basketball Federation (DIBF) as the Youth Commissioner to encourage the growth and development of Deaf Basketball in all nations of the world through the Youth Basketball Program, including camps, clinics, fundraisers, tournaments, and the general love of basketball. He served as Intramurals Director at Gallaudet University and graduated in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Recreation.
He currently resides in Hollywood, Florida with his family.
